Abstract
1,251,085. Rolling mill. DEMAG A.G. 17 Feb., 1969, No. 8533/69. Heading B3M. A continuous single strand wire rolling mill includes a number of stands each inclined at 45 degrees to the horizontal and at 90 degrees to adjacent stands, the stand incorporating a pair of rolls mounted in adjustable rockers. The rolls 2, 2a, Fig. 3, are driven by shafts A and B which are in turn driven by shafts C and D. The rolls are carried in rockers 3, 3a which are pivotable about the axes of the shafts C and D. To adjust the roll gap, the rockers are pivoted by a central wedge 4a and by upper and lower wedges 4. Worm and nut mechanisms ensure synchronous movement of the wedges.
