Abstract

1,081,533. Mine face conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. June 21, 1966 [March 26, 1965], No. 12894/65. Heading B8A. A longwall face mine conveyer includes a plurality of troughs 16 which accommodate services such as cables and hoses C, D, the troughs being immediately above the return run 12 of the conveyer. The conveying run 11 is in the same plane as the return run 12 and the runs are separated by a box-section member 14 provided on a deck plate 10. Conveying flights 13 extend in cantilever but additional support is provided for the conveying run by a second endless chain of which the run 18 is guided through a ramp plate assembly 19. In a modification the ramp plate assembly is resiliently attached to the deck plate 10 and is provided interiorly with abutments engageable by the chain run 18. The assembly 10 is thus caused to vibrate and its loading capabilities improved. Slideways 21, 22 may support a longwall cutter/loader (not shown). A stage loader conveyer also having its conveying and return runs on the same plane may extend at right angles to the face conveyer and may have its deck plate form a continuation of the face conveyer deck plate.
