[Also in Division F2] In a guillotine cutting machine of the kind in which the moving blade is carried on a swivel ram provided with trunnions mounted in bearings in the side frames of the machine, means are provided for subjecting the trunnions to thrust in a direction transverse to the axis of rotation of the ram to compensate for any play in the bearings. The means may comprise compressed packs of dished spring washers or pistons subjected to hydraulic or pneumatic pressure only during cutting operations.
