Abstract

1,080,345. Orientating welding studs. OMARK INDUSTRIES Inc. Oct. 28, 1964, No. 43912/64. Heading B8S. Welding studs 18 are fed by vibrating bowl 14 along inner slope 16, and at 36 a stud enters block 22. Block 22 is then moved forward by fluid cylinder 24 to the right so that its ends are in engagement with holes 32 and 34 leading to tubes 28 and 30. In its forward position stud 18 (Fig. 3, not shown) is subjected to an air jet from tube 42 derived from pipe 44. According to the orientation of the stud it is blown left or right down either tube 28 or tube 30 and is delivered to inverter block 64 provided with aperture 76 so that the stud arises to position 66 and then falls down discharge pipe 18. In this way the studs are all orientated in one direction and then reversed.
