Abstract

An automatic sprinkler fire-fighting system of the dry pipe type comprising an adjacent fire alarm operable by a water driven motor and a pressure-responsive alarm switch connected to remote alarm in the first station, the two being actuated by operation of the sprinkler system, also comprises a hydraulic testing circuit for the adjacent alarm motor and the pressure-responsive alarm switch and is characterised by a relay valve upstream of the two way valve for controlling operation of the alarm switch, said relay valve having a bleed passage in communication with the testing circuit and the alarm switch and through which water under pressure can flow to operate the alarm switch while urging the relay valve closed, whereby the alarm switch is operable irrespective of the positions of the valves.
