Abstract
1,077,355. Delivering sheets. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N.V. Sept. 10, 1964 [April 22, 1964], No. 37126/64. Heading B6H. [Also in Division G2] After being processed and pressed together to effect an image transfer, the image-receiving sheet 19 and light-sensitive sheet 20, still adhering to each other, are advanced towards separating mechanism with the leading edge of sheet 20 slightly in advance of sheet 19 (Fig. 1, not shown). This leading edge, passing over a driven roller 10, engages the lever of a microswitch 22, and is at the same time guided down between plates 26, following the path of broken line 23. A presser bar 12 at the end of an arm 15, and an idler roller 11 at the end of an arm 16, are both pivoted on a shaft 13, and actuation of the microswitch energizes a solenoid to pivot both these arms clockwise from the position of Fig. 1 (not shown) to that of Fig. 2. The presser bar engages transversely across the sheets, and bends them sharply. This bending, together with the rubbing action of the presser bar on the back surface of sheet 19, causes the latter to curl away from sheet 20 which is already gripped between rollers 10 and 11, now in contact. On further continuous advance of the sheets, sheet 19 curls back and passes between guide plates 24, along the path of broken line 25. A fixed blade 29 may assist the movement of sheet 19. When the trailing edge of sheet 20 leaves the microswitch lever, the solenoid is deenergized, and the parts return to their initial position. In the modified arrangement of Figs. (not shown) 3 and 4, the two sheets pass in contact between guide plates, one slightly in advance of the other as before. The leading sheet passes between a pair of rollers, and actuates a microswitch which causes the upper of the guide plates to bear against the roller and against sheet 19. This is caused to curl away upwards in the same way as before by the rubbing action of the guide plate.
