Abstract

1,075,789. Rolling; unwinding. ACHENBACH SÍHNE G.m.b.H. Oct. 9, 1964 [Jan. 13, 1964], No. 41247/64. Headings B3E and B3M. Means for feeding material from a coil to a rolling mill 1 comprises a turn-table 2, Fig. 1 (not shown), carrying two symmetrically disosed coil carriers 3, 4 which move alternately P between loading 3 and working 4 positions, and a loading manipulator arm 20 adjacent the loading position. The carriers comprise expanding shafts 5 for receiving coils with or without cores, coil openers 6, vertically adjustable coil chains 7 and feed rollers 9. Braking means 15 which may be a gear transmission connected to a braking generator, is coupled to the carrier shaft 5 in the working position by a sliding sleeve 13. An ejector 10 on the carrier shaft 5 also serves to locate the coil in the median plane of the rolling mill. The manipulator arm 20 which receives the coil W, carries an ejector 21 mounted on a vertically adjustable carriage 19 on a frame 18. The carriage can also pivot about a vertical axis on the frame which traverses in the direction D. A cropping shear 16 is provided facing the loading position.
