A photographic material comprises an aluminium support coated with a phosphinic acid or derivative thereof and then with a layer containing a condensation product of a diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt with formaldehyde, a phenolic resin and/or a polyvinylacetal. A novolak and polyvinyl formal and butyral are the specified resins. If the material is imagewise exposed, it may be developed to give a printing plate as set out in Specification 950,761.
