Abstract

1,074,101. Laundry feeding machines. MANLOVE, ALLIOTT & CO. Ltd. Dec. 20, 1963 [Dec. 20, 1962], No. 48120/62. Heading D1A. A carrier 16 reciprocates transversely to the direction of desired feeding and is provided with dips 25 into which operatives, at one or both ends of the path of reciprocation, fix a sheet. When the carrier 16 reaches the end of travel away from the operative the dips 25 are automatically opened and the sheet is dropped onto rollers 36 which feed it onto a conveyor 39. The conveyor 39 passes through the nip of rollers 45, 46 to grip the sheet which is straightened out by brushes 43, 44, 48 which are controlled by photocells 55, 56, 57 operating solenoids 51, 52, 53, 54 so that the brushes only operate while the sheet is gripped in the nip 45, 46.
