Abstract
1,072,680. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. May 20, 1964 [June 28, 1963], No. 20764/64. Heading G3P. A pressure relief valve comprises a valve member 3 loaded by a spring 10 towards a closed position and controlling the relief of pressure from a line 5, 6 to a drain line 8. A throttled passage 12 connects the line 5, 6 to a transverse bore 13 of the valve member 3 which bore is connected by a throttled passage 14, 15 to the closed cylinder end 16 and by a passage 21 to a pressure relief pilot valve 18 whose downstream side is in constant communication with the drain line 8 through passages 25 or 26. When the pressure in line 5, 6 rises to a valve sufficient to open the valve 18 fluid flows from the chamber 16 and the valve member 3 is moved against the spring loading. When the valve member 3 has moved sufficiently to connect the bore 13 to drain, the space 16 is exhausted and the valve 18 closes, the valve member 3 then moves further so that the left hand end of this member opens the groove 7 of the drain line 8.
