Abstract

1400036 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems SAPAG 24 Oct 1972 [29 Oct 1971] 48858/72 Heading G3P A pilot system which actuates a relief valve 8 upon increase of upstream pressure comprises a piston 30 adjustably loaded by a spring 24 and carrying a closure member 35 (normally open) at one end for controlling the admission of upstream pressure to the valve 8 and a closure member 31 (normally closed) at the other end for controlling the exhaust, which piston is provided with a bore 52 to connect the chambers 44, 45 at either end of the piston and with a spool 51, the opposite sides of which are in communication with the respective chambers 44 45 via grooves 54, 53, to control the connection between said chambers. The spool achieves a constant throttle during the lift period of the piston and thereafter, a complete opening of the bore to allow a rapid exhaust to allow the relief valve to open under the action of upstream pressure.
