Abstract

1,010,687. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. ROBERT BOSCH, G.m.b.H. May 28, 1964 [June 6, 1963], No. 22017/64. Heading G3P. A pressure relief valve for a hydraulic system comprises a main valve member 13 controlling relief of fluid from a pump delivery line 2 to a drain line 5. The main valve is opened when a pilot valve 21 is opened in response to increase in pressure above a predetermined value to allow leakage from a chamber 12 through a passage 28 to drain. The pilot valve 21 is loaded by a spring 23 which abuts a piston 25 slidable sealingly in a bore 20. The opposite side of the piston engages a spring 26 which is adjustable by an abutment 27. In operation, the pressure in the drain line 5 which also exists in the bore 20 acts on the piston 25 to reduce the spring loading on the pilot valve when the drain pressure rises thus providing for opening of the pilot valve at a constant predetermined value of the pump output pressure.
