Abstract

1,072,562. Oven doors. RADIATION Ltd. Feb. 26, 1965 [March 13, 1964], No. 10762/64. Heading F4W. [Also in Division E2] A drop-down oven door 4 is pivotally supported at its lower end on slide blocks 8 sliding in channel-section runners below the oven, and also by links 14 pivotally mounted at each side of the oven, the said links providing for a combined swinging and sliding movement of the door as it is closed and opened. An abutment 19 on each link 14 engages the inner door face in the fully closed position providing an air gap. The slide blocks 8 are secured to the inner face of the door by brackets 11 and pivot pins 12. Leaf springs 13 at the rear end of runners 9 releasably engage the blocks 8 in the fully stowed position of the door and a spring-loaded catch engages said blocks in the forward position. The door 4 also comprises a glass panel 6 in the frame 5.
