Abstract

1,068,441. Winding fabrics. F. DRABERT and F. DRABERT. [trading as FIRMA DRABERT SOHNE]. Jan. 7, 1966 [Oct. 23, 1965], No. 745/66. Heading D1S. A device for producing an evenly stressed roll 3 of textile material 2 for decatising comprises a sensing member 1 continuously in contact with the roll 3 as this is being formed and which is so controlled that it causes the pressure exerted on it by the roll to be continuously increased as the diameter of the roll increases. The sensing member 1 comprises a roller carried at one end of a lever 5 the other end of which is acted on by a fluid-operated cylinder 4. The pressure fluid is supplied by a tank 10 and a pressure regulator 9 is interposed between the cylinder 4 and the tank 10. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, a pinion 6 is rigidly attached to the lever 5 and acts through a rack 7 and a rod system 8 to adjust the setting of the regulator 9 so that as the decatising roll increases in size the pressure exerted by the cylinder 4 on the lever 5 is increased. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the rack 7 is replaced by a gear wheel (11) engaging a pinion (12) which operates the regulator (9). In a further embodiment Fig. 3 (not shown), the pinion (6) acts through a gear train (13), (14), (15) to rotate a drum (16) having a machined control track (17) which is engaged by a pin (18) acting through a rod (19) to adjust the regulator (9). In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the rod (19) is replaced by a rack (20) engaging a pinion (21) to adjust the the regulator (9). In another embodiment, Fig. 5, (not shown), the lever (5) is rigidly attached to a cam (22) which contacts an adjusting member (23) of the regulator (9). The material 2 may be wound with a "runner" (not shown).
