Abstract

1,067,863. Vehicle bodies. HUMBER Ltd. Nov. 13, 1963 [Nov. 13, 1962], No. 42939/62. Heading B7B. [Also in Division F4] In a vehicle, the upper part of the rear window frame 17 is hollow and has an air inlet aperture 30 leading from the vehicle and an air outlet slot in an opposite wall. The width of the window frame includes two apertures 30 each having a removable trim board 19, the inlets being formed in a depression 25 having a reinforcing strip 44. A rubber non-return flap 31 covers each aperture 30. The outlet slot is provided with a channel section baffle 32 to inhibit entry of water. Any water in the frame may drain through hollow window pillars. A heater unit, Fig. 3 (not shown), located at the front of the vehicle has a radiator matrix (40) fed with ram air and includes a control flap (41). Adjustment of the latter directs heated air downwardly from the unit and/or up through a duct (42) to the windscreen.
