739,539. Ventilating and demisting vehicle windows. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. April 2, 1954 [Aug. 31,1953]. No. 9772/54. Classes 20 (3) and 137. The demisting of the rear window 2 and the ventilation of the interior 8 of a saloon type vehicle is effected by providing a slot 6 between the lower edge of the rear window and the surrounding frame, or panel 7, air from the interior of the vehicle flowing along the inner face of the rear window 2 and being discharged through the slot 6 to the outside atmosphere. The slot 6 can extend over the whole width of the pane, or only over part thereof, and can be divided into several sections. In the embodiment according to Fig. 2 the pane 2 may be fixed at different vertical levels to obtain different forms of outlet slots, one, or more, drainage openings 11 being provided.
