Abstract
1,066.520. Boring earth &c. LEE C. MOORE CORPORATION. Dec. 9, 1965 [Aug. 2, 1965], No. 52227/65. Heading E1F. A drawworks and supporting structure are errected by placing a base 1, 2, 1 on the ground laying end frames 4, 7 on their sides beyond each end of the base, hinging the frames at 6, 9 to the base, placing a unit 16 on the base between the frames, mounting a drawworks 19 on the unit, swinging the frames into upright positions, stringing lifting lines (not shown) between the tops of the frames and the unit, hauling the lines to lift the unit and drawworks to the tops of the frames, and fastening the raised unit to the tops of the frames. Engines 45, 47 are errected and connected by chains 46, 49 to the drawworks, and by a belt 51 to a pump 50. A mast 22 is placed beside the frame 4, a sling 57 is fixed to shoes 21 on the unit and passes about pulleys 56 on the mast and the hook 58 of the travelling block, and the fast line 59 is bawled by the drawworks to raise the heel of the mast to the top of the structure. The mast is pivoted to the shoes, the drawworks are operated to raise the mast completely, and the raised mast is secured to a gin-pole structure.
