Abstract

1,062,689. Pipe brackets. R. MODEME. Sept. 15, 1965 [Oct. 3, 1964; Dec. 22, 1964], No. 39399/65. Heading A4B. [Also in Division E2] A two part clip for attaching a member, for example, a tube, cable or bar to a fixed support 9, comprises a base 2 for supporting the member and an attaching portion 1 engageable with the base, wherein the base has a web 6 adapted for attachment to the fixed support and a pair of spaced upstanding arms 11 which are joined by the web and bent outwardly intermediate their length to form a pair of spaced upwardly facing shoulders 12 adapted to support the member, the arms having free end portions 13 projecting beyond the shoulders and the attaching portion being U-sbaped and having two substantially parallel limbs adapted to embrace the member when it is supported on the said shoulders and releasably engage the free end portions of the arms of the base to resiliently clamp the member thereto. In the construction shown, the free end portions 13 are formed with slots 14 and the 'limbs of the attaching member are formed with lugs 4 having abutments 5 which are engageable with the upper edge of the slots 14 to secure the attaching portion to the base. Holes 5c are formed in the lugs so that a tool can release the lugs from the slots 14. The base is secured to the support by a screw passing through a hole 7 and the head of the screw can be arranged to abut the underside of the member.
