Abstract

106,004. Sitibbe, G. May 27, 1916. Circular machines. - Comprises the combination of a circular series of independent latch needles, a corresponding series of sinkers movable between said needles and adapted to sink and measure off the thread for the loops, and a sinker cam adjustable to vary the thread-measuring movement of the sinkers. The sinkers 2, Fig. 5, are slidably arranged and are provided with a butt 17 and shoulder 19 to engage the cams, a front portion 3 to sink the loops, a bulge 20 to support the thread during the sinking movement, and a recess 22 to engage with and hold down the web. The switch cam 4, Fig. 1, is pivoted at 6 to the cup and is adjustable through a link by a lever 8 which is held by a bindscrew 10, and may be furnished with graduations 12 A fixed cam 15 guides the sinkers on to the cam 4 from which they pass to another fixed cam 16.
