Abstract

1,055,460. Washing bottles. BRITISH MILLER HYDRO CO. Ltd. Aug. 27, 1965 [Sept. 3,1964], No. 36142/64. Heading B8T. Inverted bottles 6 are washed internally and externally whilst on a continuously driven chain conveyer 2 by upwardly and downwardly directed fluid emitting jets carried by a frame 8 supported by pivoted links 9 and given a to- and-fro motion in the direction of travel of the bottles. The frame is oscillated by a driven cam 13 via a bell crank lever 10 and link 11, and is given a forward movement identical with the conveyer speed and a quick return movement. The upwardly directed jets 14, Fig. 2, not shown, are aligned with bottle holders 5 and are mounted on parallel transverse pipes; the downwardly directed jets 17, Fig. 4,.not shown, are carried by transverse tubes 16 and may be directed at different angles and staggered.
