Abstract

1,053,390. Coated elastameric yarns; warping. WYOMISSING CORPORATION. April 23, 1964 [April 24, 1963], No 16803/64. Headings D1F, DIM and D1W. A plurality of elastomeric yarns-e.g. of rubber or spandex-are covered by an adhesive having an elongation when set or cured similar to that of the yarns by passing the yarns whilst elongated in side-by-side relationship to the adhesive applying device 30. Flock may be applied to the adhesively coated yarns in chamber 20, the adhesive being set or cured by the warm current of air in chamber 20 and by oven 60. The pump extracting the flock loaded air from chamber 20 has a greater capacity than the pump feeding the flock and air thereto, air being drawn in from the outside to make up the difference and thus to prevent loss of fibres. Rollers 18 elongate the yarns by the required amount. The above process may be carried out while the yarns are being fed to warp beam B, there being a common drive for packages P in the creel, feed rolls 18, and drive roll 25 of beam B.
