Abstract

1,047,129. Feeding sheets. L. MESTRE. Dec. 8, 1964 [Dec. 19, 1963], No. 49951/64. Heading B6B. In apparatus wherein a stack S of sheets is supported on table 10, and the sheets are separated therefrom by a friction roller or other means, a pair of prongs 24 bent from members 22 rest on the corners of the top sheet to provide a resistance to the removal of the top sheet. Each member 22 is pivoted at 23 on a carrier 19 which is slidable vertically on a guide 15 carried on the forward end of the side wall of the table, and has a weight 37, Fig. 3 (not shown), removably attached thereto. The member 22 has holes 29 which can be engaged by projections 32 on a spring-urged plate 30, whereby the member 22 can be adjusted angularly about the pivot 23, and hence laterally of the sheet stack S. A ledge 47, secured to a front plate 41 (Fig. 1, not shown), of resilient material supports the carrier 19 in a raised position during the loading of the sheet stack on the table 10. The table 10 is raised by known means to keep the top of the stack at a constant level.
