Abstract

1,235,158. Feeding sheets. RANK XEROX Ltd. 27 May, 1968 [29 May, 1967], No. 25214/68. Heading B8R. Additional sheets 51 are introduced into the feed of suction separators 36 (normally feeding sheets from a primary stack 18) by means of a supplementary tray 50 constructed with a lower sheet supporting surface 52, Fig. 5, edge guides 56, top plate 68 and deflecting loops 72. The size and orientation of loops 72 is adjustable to position the additional sheets in the path of separators 36. The height of the primary stock is controlled by a top surface detector and separated sheets are forwarded by rollers (34, Fig. 4, not shown) and belts (16, Fig. 1, not shown).
