Abstract

1,045,567. Independent spring suspensions. ROVER CO. Ltd. July 27, 1965, [July 29, 1964], No. 30259/64. Heading B7D. In a vehicle having each of two opposite wheels 10 independently suspended by means including a transverse suspension arm 13 pivoted about a longitudinal axis 27, an antiroll torsion bar 23 including a transverse portion 24 mounted in spaced bearings 26 is attached to each arm 13 by a resilient bush 28 disposed on an axis directed toward the intersection of the axis 27 with the transverse portion 24 of the torsion bar 23. As shown, each wheel 10 is rotatably mounted on a bing post steerable by linkage 20 and connected by the arm 13 and an upper arm 12 to a transverse sub-frame 11. A coil spring and telescopic damper support the sub-frame 11 on each arm 13.
