Abstract

104,174. Lipman, J. G. Feb. 17, 1916, [Convention date]. Manures.-Phosphate rocks and potash-bearing rocks, such as feldspar and greensand marl, are rendered available as fertilizers by mixing them in a finely-ground condition with finely-ground sulphur and a substance bacterially active, such as fertile soil, to oxidize the sulphur. Manure is added, and the mixture is kept moist. The phosphate rock is converted into citrate soluble phosphates, and the potash into potassium sulphate.
