Abstract

1,036,313. Controlling hydraulic motors. BUTTERWORTH HYDRAULIC DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Jan. 27, 1965 [Oct. 30, 1963], No. 39732/63. Heading F1P. A plurality of hydraulic motors each has an inlet connected to the outlet port b of one of a series of coupled rotary positive displacement units B each supplied with hydraulic fluid under pressure from a source D so as to supply an equal volume of fluid to each motor irrespective of the loads on each motor. Each unit B comprises a housing C in which is rotatable a vaned rotor having an output shaft A coupled to the output shafts of an adjacent unit. The hydraulic fluid from the source D causes rotation of the vaned rotors before passing through outlet ports b to the motors, and since each rotor must rotate by the same amount the same volume of fluid is directed to each motor. If desired some of the outlets b can be connected to a reservoir whereby the pressure of fluid supplied to the remaining motors is increased.
