Abstract

1,032,546. Conveyers operated by screw mechanism. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GESELLSCHAFT. Aug. 25, 1964 [Aug. 26, 1963], No. 34643/64. Heading B7L. Conveyer elements 4 having load pockets 5, have wheels 3 running in recesses in endless rails 1, 2; each element has a follower 8 engageable in a spiral groove 7 of varying pitch in drums 6 rotatable at constant speed. Star-shaped elements 9 driven in synchronism with drums 6 or in a step-by-step motion, have recesses 11, Fig. 1, not shown, which engage followers 8 to move the elements 4 around bends between drums 6. The pitch of groove 7 is zero as at 7a, Fig. 1, so that elements 4 come to rest for brief periods as desired.
