Abstract

1,030,453. Sheet-delivery apparatus. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Feb. 23, 1965 [Feb. 24, 1964], No. 7675/65. Addition to 960,145. Heading B64. In apparatus as set out in the parent Specification wherein data-carrying cards are fed by rollers n, Fig. 1, to retarding means and each card 1 enters grooves 11 in counter-rotating rollers 10 so as to cause its trailing end to be moved downwardly out of the way of the leading end of the following card, each groove 11 has retarding means e.g. leaf springs 15, associated with it. As shown, each card as it is released from the rollers 10 during their rotation drops into a collecting magazine 18, 19, and an inclined surface 16 bends the leading end of the card downwardly so that the end is between the side walls 18 before the card is released. A driven roller 17 beneath the card 1 forces the card against the end wall 19. The grooves 11 are helical and designed so that the leading edge of the card remains at the same height i.e. at the level of the axes of the rollers 10 during the passage of the card into the grooves. In one construction, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), leaf-spring retarding devices 28 are attached to the ends of inverted U-shaped strips 27 forming the grooves and are mounted on a part of the roller 10 which is adjustable about its axis to bend the strips 27 to helical shape. In another construction, Figs. 2a, 2b (not shown), the retarding means are formed by flattened abutting parts on the ends of strips 24 forming the grooves.
