Abstract
1,028,042. Extra-air admission devices. M. Y. A. M. SERRUYS. March 27, 1963 [March 29, 1962; Aug. 27, 1962; Jan. 29, 1963], No. 12188/63. Heading F1B. Extra air admitted through a pipe 6 is controlled by a slide 51 actuated from the throttle valve 2. The slide 50 is controlled conjointly by the throttle valve 2, which operates a cam 55 hinged on a plate 58, and by suction acting on a capsule 17 which controls the plate 58, the cam 55 controlling the plate 50 through linkage 52. The extra air entering pipe 7 may be heated by passing through a sleeve over the exhaust pipe. The capsule 17 is associated with a second capsule 90 which opens the throttle valve 2 during overrunning. The capsule 17 controls a servo valve 85 Fig. 2 (not shown) controlling the admission of intake pipe suction to the capsule 90 which is connected through lost-motion linkage 96 to the throttle valve. The cam 55, may also be associated with another cam adjusting the ignition advance. In Fig. 4 (not shown), the extra air, controlled by valve 50 is drawn from the crankcase 70 through a chamber 72 having a valve 73, which opens at excess suction to admit air from atmosphere, and a blow off valve 81 which opens at excess pressure in the crankcase.
