Abstract

1,025,934. Double twist spindles. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Feb. 27, 1963 [March 1, 1962], No. 7931/63. Headings DID and D1F. A textile double twist twisting spindle has a cylindrical, balloon restricting jacket 3 which is provided, at the end from which the thread leaves, with a hood 7 for deflecting the air flowing from the inside of the jacket through an aperture 12, the hood also having an aperture 8 on the spindle axis for the passage of the thread. The air current which is created by the thread balloon and other moving parts carries fly out of the jacket and into a collecting duct or receiver in line with the aperture 12. In place of the aperture 12 the hood may be provided with a funnel shaped spout, alternatively the apertures 8 and 12 are joined by a channel to form a collar shaped hood. The hood may be integral with or detachable from the jacket 3 and flaps may be provided in the jacket to provide access to the interior thereof. As shown, the jacket 3 is preferably extended at its lower end to enclose the thread storage disc.
