Abstract
1,023,937. Lubricator couplings. CASTROL Ltd. Feb. 17, 1965, No. 6914/65. Addition to 963,836. Heading F2G. The lubricating device described in the parent Specification is modified in that the rod 24, instead of being formed with a valve head is adapted to engage a separate ball valve 51 which is urged into engagement with the valve seat 33 by a spring 29, whereby when the part 41 is pressed against a lubricating nipple the rod is moved axially relatively to the part 12 so as to urge the valve away from the seat against the action of the spring. The valve or seat may have a bleed groove to place the passage 44 into communication with the chamber 28 to relieve pressure built up in the chamber. The valve may be an integral part of a piston 53 reciprocable in the bore 18 of the part 11 and have an axial passage 54 for the passage of lubricant.
