Abstract

1,023,767. Draughting machines. A. ROCCATI. Feb. 17, 1964 [Oct. 3, 1963], No. 6482/64. Heading G1X. A drawing desk is characterized in that the work plane is constituted by an endless belt 7 carrying the drawing paper sheet and running on parallel rollers 8, 9, a hard grip device 21 carrying rulers 12, 13 being constrained to move parallel to the rollers on a shaft 14 and guide bar 10. The belt 7 is preferably a sheet of plastics material with its ends joined by a perforated rubber strip 20. The belt is moved by rotation of a sleeve 19 keyed to the shaft 14 which is of square section, which in turn rotates the roller 8 by way of pulleys 15, 17. The rules 12, 13 are supported above the drawing paper by a resilient support 11 mounted on a slide on the bar 10. Pressure on the head grip 21 then brings the rules into contact with the paper, and a board is mounted directly behind the belt to support the belt and provide a suitable drawing surface. The desk may be mounted on legs, so that when placed on a plane surface it is inclined to the horizontal or the desk may be made floor-standing.
