Abstract

1,022,018. Gas burners. A. L. MILLER. Sept. 3, 1964, No. 36099/64. Headings F4F anti F4T. A gas burner comprises a distribution chamber 22 having large and small burner exit orifices 27, 47 and having a decreasing cross-section from the gas inlet end to the closed end, and a pair of transverse baffles 37, 38 in the distribution chamber near its inlet end. A further transverse baffle 39 is located on the centre of the bottom wall of the chamber and a still further transverse baffle 41 is located near its closed end. The small exit orifices 47 are disposed at the inlet end of the chamber and the gas-air mixture discharging therefrom is ignited by a pilot burner 48. A supplementary orifice may be directed into the pilot flames. The bottom wall of the chamber follows an exponential curve. The chamber is connected to a Venturi diffusion tube 21 into the open end of which gas is directed by a pipe 17.
