1,021,485. Draught regulating systems. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP " DAVO " HAARDEN-FABRIEK. April 28, 1964 [May 1, 1963], No. 17470/64. Heading F4W. Apparatus, for regulating the chimney draught for a gas stove, having a connection between the stove flue gas outlet 12, and the chimney flue 1 open to the room containing the stove, comprises a pipe 2, slidably fitted in the flue 1, and carrying a counterweighted flap valve. The flap, pivoted on a shaft 4, has a larger portion 5 and a smaller portion 6, and is biased towards the fully open position by the counterweight 9 or by one or more springs. An increase in the flow of flue gas from the stove moves the flap towards the closed position. The flap is so shaped as never to close fully the sectional area of the chimney duct 2. A baffleplate 10 and hood 13 serve to prevent gusts of wind entering the flue gas outlet 12. In a modification, Fig. 2, the apparatus is mounted in a horizontal flue duct.
