A rotary hydraulic pump of the kind described in Specification 629,847, having a common casing housing in side-by-side relationship a pair of internally-meshing gear pumps of the n and n+1 lobe type, includes between the pumps a plate 3 formed with a hole 4 interconnecting the high pressure zones 10, 11 of the pumps so that the pumps discharge to a common outlet 12, the low pressure zones 8, 9 of the pumps being connected to separate inlets 13, 14 respectively. Operating as a motor, the hole 4 is located so that the low pressure zones are interconnected and discharge to a common outlet and the high pressure zones are connected to separate high pressure supply sources.
