1,016,347. Tube couplings. BEARING SERVICE (HOLDINGS) Ltd. Oct. 16, 1964, No. 42344/64. Heading F2G. A compression-type tube fitting of metal or plastics material comprises a body part 5 and a nut 11 provided with an internal, integral ring 12 of a size and configuration such that as the nut is positioned on the tube and screwthreadably engaged with the body part the ring is compressed on to the tube to establish continuous contact therebetween and provide a fluid-tight joint. As shown, the ring 12 has a circumferentially projecting sealing part 16 and a tapered outer surface 13 corresponding to the surface 10 of the body part; the bore 8 of the latter may be provided with projections of barb-like form.
