Abstract

Heading B8A In a rotary feeder for particulate material in which a vaned rotor 6, Fig. 2, transfers material between the inlet 7 and outlet 8 of a casing 3, the root of each pocket comprises a porous member 17 through which blasts of compressed air are directed to ease the discharge of material into the outlet 8. The rotor shaft 5 is hollow and has radial holes 15 which successively align with a radial outlet 14 of a fixed central shaft 12 having a longitudinal bore 13 for compressed air. Removable end plates 2 on the casing 3 and a splined connection 10 to a drive shaft 9 provide for ready removal of the rotor 6 from the casing 3.
