Abstract

726,233. Pneumatic conveyers. SIMON, Ltd., H. Feb. 18, 1954 [March 13, 1953], No. 6946/53. Class 78 (1). Material is fed into a pneumatic conveying line h, i from a hopper e by a rotor a, the pockets d of which (1) come successively into alignment with ports f, g in the casing c through which the air stream passes, and (2) are sealed by spring-loaded metal, or other strips, k inserted in the tips of their radial divisions j and bearing against the casing. A port m is provided in the casing to bring the air in each pocket substantially to atmospheric or subatmospheric pressure before the pocket is in position to receive material from the hopper.
