Abstract

1,014,980. Combustion-chambers. MOTOREN-WERKE MANNHEIM A.G. Aug. 7, 1963 [Aug. 18, 1962], No. 31246/63. Heading F1B. A combustion chamber 8 is closed by a plate 2 having a duct 3 into which opens a wedge-shaped recess 16 in the cylinder head face, the fuel being injected on to plate 2 adjacent the edge of opening 3, which edge is lower than the height of recess 16 when it meets duct 3. The upper face of plate 2 is formed as a wide angle cone and the recess 16 opens into recesses around the valve seats.
