Abstract

1,014,719. Cleaning windows and windscreens. M. W. WAYNE. Aug. 21, 1964 [Aug. 22, 1963], No. 34401/64. Heading A4F. A device for cleaning windows and vehicle windscreens comprises a head 12 of resilient material having a cleaning surface to which water is supplied through pressure operated valves 36, 38 when these are pressed against the window or windscreen. In use the head 12 is reciprocated manually so that ribs 20 thereon scrub the window or windscreen, whilst suction is applied through an opening 22 and a pipe 66 passing through the handle 10A of the appliance to withdraw the used cleaning water. Squeegee members 16, 18 assist in wiping water from the window or windscreen, and a manual water control valve 58 is provided so that the device may be used without feeding water to the window or windscreen.
