Abstract

1,009,846. Railing. BRITISH ALUMINIUM CO. Ltd. Dec. 13, 1962 [Dec. 13, 1961], No. 44667/61. Heading E1B. A handrail system comprises a pair of members 1, 2 having opposed flanges 3, 5 which are notched to receive correspondingly notched elements 7 adapted to extend between the members, and locking means such as the locking bars 9 which are engageable with posts 14 and prevent relative displacement of one member away from the other, the locking means being secured to each post by fastening means such as the bolted-on bracket 16. As described, the railing also comprises a handrail 18 supported on a number of elements 21 and secured to the brackets 16.
