Abstract

1,010,487. Clamps. TITAN EISENWARENFABRIK, G.m.b.H. July 19, 1963 [Dec. 5, 1962], No. 28722/63. Heading E2B. [Also in Division A4] Metal straps have their overlapping ends 10, 11 connected together by fastening catches 12, 13, comprising webs 15 bent out from the plane of the straps from between stepped slits 14, and locking catches 16 which comprise at least one zig-zag slit 17 formed in each strap. The locking catches 16 may comprise two slits 17 symmetrically disposed on either side of the centre line of the straps with the enclosed web portions 22 being bent out of the plane of the strap, each slit having one section 18 formed parallel to the axis of the strap and two sections 19, 20 which are formed oblique to the axis. When the two ends 10, 11 are superimposed the web 15 of the strap 10 engages the undeformed part of the strap 11 and locks the straps against movement in one direction, and the bent out web 22 of strap 10 engages behind the web 22 of strap 11 to prevent movement of the strap ends in either direction.
