1,007,054. Stowing and releasing inflatable craft. FRANKENSTEIN GROUP Ltd. Aug. 17, 1964 [May 18, 1963], No. 19840/63. Heading B7S. In a stowage for inflatable articles such as liferafts comprising two similar members A, B moulded in a hard non- metallic material and secured edge-to-edge to form a generally cylindrical enclosure for the deflated liferaft, the two moulded members A, B are formed with continuous inwardly directed marginal flanges which are secured together in a watertight manner via at least one continuous sealing strip H of an elastomeric material which is adapted to tear or separate from said flanges when the stowage is subjected to internal pressure by self-inflation of the contained article. Fig. 2 shows a painter line F led into the stowage for initiating the self-inflation and fitting tightly within a a guide G located in the joint between the members A and B.
