Abstract

1,001,781. Skirting strips. JAMES BOOTH ALUMINIUM Ltd. May 20, 1963 [May 24, 1962], No. 19937/62. Heading E1V. An extruded skirting strip 10, Fig. 2, comprises, an upper portion having a longitudinally extending recess 12 defined by a base 30 and a front wall 14, which recess receives a part 26 of the wall which may be of plaster or plasterboard, and a curved lower portion 17 having a longitudinally extending recess 16 adapted to receive an edge of one or more floor panels 11. The wall 18 of the recess 16 has a reduced thickness portion 28 to facilitate inward bending of the wall 18 to grip the panel 11. A rear wall 13 of the recess 12 may be provided which has dovetail keys 15 to retain the plaster. In another embodiment the front wall 29, Fig. 3, of the recess 12 is offset to define a ledge 31 upon which rests the lower edge of a plate 34 which covers a conduit formed between battens 33 at the base of the wall 37.
