707,503. Securing panels. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP ONTWIKKELINGMAATSCHAPPIJ POLYNORM. May 13, 1952 [May 23, 1951], No. 12141/52. Class 20 (4) A strip for clamping together the edges of wall, or ceiling, panels &c. to form exterior, or interior, coverings is rolled, or bent, from a single piece of sheet material and comprises a central groove 1 and on either side thereof grooves 2, 3, adapted to grip the edges of adjacent panels. The central groove 1, having a narrowed mouth 6, is adapted for press button engagement with the thickened edge 23 of a strip-like fastening member 22. The introduction of a fastening member into the groove I spreads wall portions 4, 5 to assist in clamping the edges of the panels in the side grooves 2, 3. In a modification, Fig. 2, walls 24, 25 are in contact with a wall 13 along the entire depth of the grooves 2, 3. In Fig. 3, clamping strips 32, 33, holding a panel 34, have been secured to studs 30, 31 by means of strips 22 and the panel 35 has its edges clamped in the strips 33, 36, while the strip 36 is being swung in the direction of the arrow to engage the next strip 22 on a stud 37.
