Abstract

1,001,513. Battery changing arrangements. POLISH EX-COMBATANTS ASSOCIATION Ltd. June 18, 1962 [June 16, 1961], No. 21872/61. Heading H2H. A battery charging circuit has a transductor A.C. windings 2, 3 connected in series with the A.C. supply and its control windings S1 S2, connected in series with the battery, so that as the battery current decreases, the transductor impedance increases. Opposing voltage fed bias windings V1, V2 which may be supplied through one arm of the rectifier 4 ensure that at minimum battery current, the transductor is completely unsaturated. A green lamp 18 is brightly illuminated when the battery is charged and a red lamp is brightly illuminated when the battery current is high or output terminals 5, 6 are accidently short-circuited. The circuit may incorporate a battery tester (Fig. 2) comprising a saturable choke 21, 23. When a battery is connected across the winding 23, a lamp 22 will be brightly illuminated when the battery voltage is high.
