Afin d'avoir une situation modale acceptable, c'est-à-dire repousser les modes de flexion des plages de fonctionnement des étages basses et hautes pressions du moteur, le tube présente un diamètre d supérieur à un diamètre minimal dmjn qu'imposerait la seule contrainte de ventilation, ce qui entraîne une augmentation non souhaitée de la masse comme de l'encombrement de ce tube.
