Abstract
Description
The present invention relates, for a hybrid vehicle comprising a traction thermal engine, to a method of managing the output of a degraded electric driving mode, and a hybrid vehicle implementing such a method. A known type of hybrid vehicle comprises a traction engine which may be of the gasoline or diesel type, associated with a second electric traction motor comprising at least one electric machine powered by batteries, which can be recharged by this machine during taxiing. of the vehicle. For some of these vehicles, the batteries can also be recharged on a power distribution network, after a connection to this network during a stop of the vehicle. The second electric motor allows to reduce the consumption of the engine, as well as the emissions of gaseous pollutants. The electric machine can operate as a traction motor of the vehicle, by taking electrical energy from the batteries, or by a generator, by recovering the kinetic energy of the vehicle to produce a charging current of these batteries. In general, the batteries may include all types of technologies including electrochemical cells or capacitors, grouped into one or more modules, and connected together in series or in parallel. It is thus possible to achieve different operating modes, including in particular a mode only with the heat engine, a mode only with the second electric motor, also called electric mode or "ZEV" mode, without emission of gaseous pollutants, or a hybrid mode associating these two engines to deliver a higher power. A method for controlling the known actuators, presented in particular by the document US-A1-2005 / 0061562, achieves from a running in electric mode with the electric motor alone, a limitation of the performance of this mode which is degraded when the load batteries fall below a certain threshold, allowing a taxi with a speed of this vehicle which is reduced, to avoid a breakdown of the vehicle. Depending on the driving conditions and the demands of the driver, the vehicle can then start the engine to continue driving. However, in the case of heavily discharged batteries, there is no specific strategy for the output of the degraded electric driving mode, to a hybrid mode of running comprising the starting of the engine, to ensure a certain consistency of perceptions by the driver. The present invention is intended to avoid these disadvantages of the prior art. It proposes for this purpose a method of managing the output of a driving mode only with the electric motor, for a hybrid vehicle comprising a traction engine and an electric motor powered by batteries, this electric driving mode being degraded in the case of heavily discharged batteries, and imposing a significant reduction in the torque delivered by the electric motor, characterized in that according to the conditions of exit of this mode of rolling degraded to a hybrid mode, it applies particular strategies for starting the engine thermal necessarily comprising a maintenance running of the engine for a defined time, or a minimum distance traveled by the vehicle.
An advantage of the method of managing the output of the degraded rolling mode according to the invention, and that the driver recently leaving this particular mode of rolling comprising a low torque delivered by the electric motor, continues with another hybrid driving mode which is also special, imposing from the start the start of the engine that it can feel through the noise or vibration of the engine.
Without this strategy, in some particular cases the vehicle could be at the beginning of this hybrid mode with the engine stopped and without performance reduction, while performance was degraded in the previous electric mode. This situation could disturb the driver.
The method of managing the output of the degraded electric driving mode may further include one or more of the following features, which may be combined with each other. Advantageously, the conditions of output of the degraded electric driving mode to a hybrid mode comprise a driver action on a hybrid mode control, or on the accelerator pedal by crossing in particular a threshold or a hard point, or on the key contact of the vehicle. Advantageously, with a driver action on the control of the hybrid mode or on the accelerator pedal, the method applies a particular first strategy for starting the engine, with a driver action on the ignition key of the vehicle including a period of time between the cutoff and the handing-over of the contact which is less than a maximum delay, it applies a second particular strategy for starting the heat engine, with a duration between the cut-off and the handing-over of the contact which is greater than this maximum delay; does not apply a particular strategy, but the nominal management of starting and stopping this heat engine. In particular, the maximum time for the duration between the cutoff and the delivery of the contact, may be between about half an hour and two hours.
La figure 1 présente pour la traction d'un véhicule hybride donné en exemple pour illustrer le procédé de gestion, un moteur thermique 2, une 30 machine électrique principale 4, et une machine électrique secondaire 6.Advantageously, the defined time and the minimum distance traveled by the second particular starting strategy of the heat engine are smaller than those of the first particular strategy. In particular, for the first particular starting strategy of the heat engine, the defined time can be of the order of 4 minutes and the distance of the order of 4 km, and for the second particular strategy, the time can be of the order 2 minutes and the distance of the order of 2km. Advantageously, the method for managing the output of a running mode calculates, at the start of the hybrid mode, a new nominal energy optimized traction threshold based on the analysis of the yields of the different engines, for each of the two particular strategies. taking into account the operating parameters of the vehicle at this time. The invention also relates to a hybrid vehicle comprising a traction engine, and an electric motor powered by batteries, which implements a method of managing the output of a degraded electric driving mode, comprising the any of the preceding features. The invention will be better understood and other features and advantages will appear more clearly on reading the following description given by way of example and in a nonlimiting manner with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the main functions relating to the engines of a hybrid vehicle, which are related to a management method according to the invention; FIG. 2 is a graph showing modes of operation of this hybrid vehicle, as a function of the energy level in the batteries; and - Figure 3 is a block diagram of the management method. FIG. 1 shows for the traction of an exemplary hybrid vehicle to illustrate the management method, a heat engine 2, a main electric machine 4, and a secondary electric machine 6.
La figure 2 présente sur un axe vertical le niveau d'énergie Nv contenu dans les batteries d'alimentation des machines électriques de traction 4, 6, qui est compris entre un niveau minimal de chargement NvO, et un niveau maximal Nv1.Various information on the operation of the vehicle 8 is transmitted on the one hand to a function which translates the torque demand on the drive wheels 10, coming from the driver who expresses this request by pressing the accelerator pedal, and other part of a torque limiting calculation function 12 on the transmission members. The torque demand function applied to the driving wheels 10 as well as the torque limiting calculation function 12, each send information to an operating point selection function 14 which distributes the torque between the different engines, and sends a particular torque setpoint to the heat engine 2, to the main electric machine 4 and to the secondary electric machine 6. The method for managing the output of a degraded electric driving mode is implemented by the choice of points function 14. Thereafter, the term "electric motorization" includes the various electrical traction machines 4, 6. Figure 2 presents on a vertical axis the level of energy Nv contained in the power supply batteries of the electrical machines of traction 4, 6, which is between a minimum level of loading NvO, and a maximum level Nv1.
A first loading threshold S1 delimits below a first zone A where the charge level of these batteries is insufficient to obtain a taxi in electric only mode "ZEV", and above a second zone B where the battery charge level is enough to get this electric mode.
The first threshold S1 can generally be calibrated according to vehicle operating parameters, such as the speed of this vehicle, and external parameters such as temperature. The right-hand side of the figure shows an enlarged portion of the junction between the first zone A and the second zone B, comprising a second threshold S2 below which the charge level of the batteries Nv is sufficiently low, for when a running in an electric mode, impose the transition from the nominal electric driving mode to a low-degraded electric mode, called by some manufacturers "turtle mode". In this weakly degraded electrical mode, the electric motor delivers a reduced torque in order to save electrical energy, and to obtain a certain remaining autonomy of the vehicle. A third threshold S3 between the second threshold S2 and the first threshold S1, represents an even lower battery charge level Nv below which the electrical mode performance is greatly degraded, to allow a very low speed of the vehicle, for example between 6 and 10 km / h, to preserve a small remaining autonomy. In addition, this highly degraded electric driving mode warns the driver of the proximity of a complete stop of the vehicle. In particular, the various degraded operating modes can be indicated to the driver by a specific display on the dashboard. The output of the degraded electrical mode to the nominal electrical mode, is above a fourth threshold S4 greater than the second threshold S2, so as to obtain a hysteresis given by the difference between this second threshold and this fourth threshold allowing avoid incessant passages between these two thresholds. We can pass in particular from the degraded electrical mode to the nominal electrical mode crossing the fourth threshold S4, for example when the vehicle arrived at the top of a mountain pass with heavily discharged batteries, begins the next descent which will recharge these batteries by a recovery of the kinetic energy of the vehicle. Coming from the highly degraded electrical mode, the charge level of the batteries Nv can reach the first threshold S1 corresponding to a virtual breakdown of the vehicle, which stops the electric traction in order to keep a minimum level of charge of the batteries to ensure the power supply of the onboard network and the starting of the engine, and not to damage these batteries by a much too strong discharge.
Depending on the settings of the vehicle, in the first zone A below the first threshold 51 for charging batteries, it is still possible to allow small movements of the vehicle at a very low speed, to ensure safety.
If, despite a deterioration in performance, below the first threshold 51, the charge level of the batteries Nv reaches a fifth threshold S5 which is a little above the minimum level of charging NvO, then it is necessary to start the combustion engine even if the driver do not ask it. This makes it possible to stop the energy consumption of the batteries, and the reduction of its charge level Nv. In this case the mode of reduction of the performance of the vehicle remains always active, and the method of managing the output of the electric driving mode according to the invention is always applied. The vehicle can at any time go into a hybrid mode setting the engine runs, always at the request of the driver who acts for it on a command to ask for example a normal hybrid mode, a sport hybrid mode, or a mode comprising all the drive wheels in the case of a distribution of engines on all four wheels. The driver can also act on the ignition key of the vehicle, or on the accelerator pedal including crossing a threshold or a hard point. FIG. 3 shows, from the electrical mode 20, a selection 22 of the output of this electrical mode. In the case where the output of the electrical mode 20 is not requested, the current strategy is maintained including the stopped thermal engine 24, the vehicle then remains in this electric mode.
In the case where the output of the electrical mode 20 is requested, for example by the action of the driver on the ignition key, on a hybrid mode control or on the accelerator pedal, and in the case where the driving mode electrical energy is degraded with a sufficiently low Nv battery charge level, lower than the second threshold S2, the method then performs a selection 26 which evaluates this type of degraded operation.
In the case where the charge level of the batteries Nv is not too low, and remains higher than the third threshold S3, the operation of the electrical mode being weakly degraded, the process then carries out a nominal management of the start and the stop of the heat engine 28, corresponding to the normal operation of the hybrid mode. After an operation of the electric motor which is weakly degraded in this electric mode, the transition to a nominal operation of the hybrid mode will be insensitive to the driver In the case where the charge level of the batteries Nv is very low, passing below of the third threshold S3, the operation of the electrical mode being greatly degraded, the method then makes a selection 30 which evaluates the type of action exerted by the driver to exit this mode. In this case, there is an output of the highly degraded electric mode which is done by a hybrid mode imposing the ignition of the heat engine, not to end up in a rolling situation comprising the transition to hybrid mode with the engine off, corresponding temporarily running in electric mode which may have no degradation of performance. If the demand for the output of the highly degraded electrical mode comes from an action on the control of the hybrid mode or on the accelerator pedal, then the method applies a first particular strategy for starting the heat engine 32. If the demand for output the highly degraded electrical mode comes from an action on the ignition key, the process then carries out a selection 34 over the time between the cutoff and the delivery of this contact. If the duration between the cutoff and the handing over of the contact is greater than a maximum delay, which is advantageously between half an hour and two hours, and which can be in particular of approximately one hour, then the process realizes a management nominal starting and stopping of the engine 28 when restarting the vehicle. If the time between the cutoff and the reset of the contact is shorter than this maximum delay, the method applies a second particular strategy for starting the heat engine 36 when the vehicle is restarted. The first 32 and the second particular strategy for starting the heat engine, perform a similar operation comprising different calibrations, including a maintenance running of this engine for a defined time, and / or a minimum distance traveled by the vehicle. Advantageously, the time and the distance of the second starting strategy of the heat engine 36 are smaller than those of the first strategy 32.
These times and distances allow the driver to feel the start of the engine, in order to achieve a consistent transition between the severely degraded operation of the electric mode, and a nominal hybrid mode. In addition, a new nominal energy optimized traction threshold based on the analysis of the efficiencies of the different engines, is defined for each of these two particular strategies 32, 36 taking into account the operating parameters of the vehicle at that moment, in order to calculate a power distribution between the different engines to optimize the energy consumed. It keeps a control on the fuel consumption of the engine. All time and distance calibrations for the two particular strategies for starting the heat engine 32, 36, the time between the cut-off and the handing-over of the contact, or the thresholds for the energy level Nv of the batteries can be realized. in particular according to the traffic conditions such as the average speed of the vehicle, or the type of taxiing that can be of the urban, road or mountain type.
