Abstract
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to the manufacture of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle. It relates in particular to the attachment of a vibration damper at the articulation between the frame and the rear axle of a motor vehicle.
In many motor vehicles, the rear axle is articulated relative to the chassis. This rear axle can thus pivot relative to the chassis of the vehicle, under the control of a suspension and shock absorber system.
It happens in some vehicle models that the rear articulated train undergoes vibrations relative to the chassis, at frequencies too high to be damped effectively by the damper system. To overcome this disadvantage, it has been imagined to place at the joints between the rear axle and the chassis specific vibration dampers. In order to effectively damp the vibrations, and consequently to suppress the disturbing noises in the vehicle, it is necessary that these vibration dampers are fixed in a precise position on the vehicle. However, this damper is not always correctly positioned. It happens in particular, during the tightening force of the screw fixing the damper, that it rotates slightly around this screw. A wrong orientation of this vibration damper with respect to the part that carries it can make it inefficient, which generates abnormal noises in the vehicle. The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages of the prior art. More specifically, the present invention aims to allow easy and reliable mounting of a vibration damper at the articulation between the vehicle frame and the rear axle, directly in the appropriate position. A particular object of the invention is to provide the tooling for such an assembly, and a mounting method, which are particularly easy to implement and which avoid any mounting error. These objectives, as well as others that will become more apparent later, are achieved by a method of mounting a vibration damper against an outer face of a wing of a frame attachment clevis. a vehicle, in particular an automobile, having a front end of a longitudinal arm of a rear axle, consisting, according to the invention, of positioning the vibration damper against the wing of the yoke by a jig, and to keep it temporarily in position with this template during its final assembly at the screed. Advantageously, the final assembly of the vibration damper to the yoke is achieved with the fastening screw securing the yoke at the front end of the longitudinal arm of the rear axle. Advantageously, the vibration damper is constituted by a metal plate on which is molded a pad of elastic material, the metal plate having a hole allowing the passage of the threaded portion of the fixing screw. Advantageously, the screw and the vibration damper are placed in the template, before positioning the vibration damper against the wing of the yoke, to form an assembly which is then positioned against the yoke. Advantageously, the positioning of the assembly formed by the screw, the vibration damper and the template is performed while the yoke is held in its assembly position at the front end of the longitudinal arm.
The invention also relates to a positioning jig for mounting a vibration damper against an outer face of a wing of a yoke for attachment to the chassis of a vehicle, in particular a vehicle, a front end of a longitudinal arm of a rear axle, characterized in that it comprises means for positioning the vibration damper against the wing of the yoke, and temporarily holding the vibration damper in position during its final assembly to the clevis. Advantageously, the template comprises a centering guide adapted to receive the head of the screw for fixing the vibration damper to the yoke, and angular positioning elements of the vibration damper.
Advantageously, the template comprises an angular positioning means of the template relative to the yoke. Advantageously, the angular positioning means is constituted by a fork whose branches surround a support member of the rear axle. Advantageously, the template the temporary holding means of the vibration damper comprises a magnet magnetically applying to the wing of the yoke.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly on reading the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, accompanied by figures among which: FIG. 1 represents the rear axle of a vehicle placed on a pallet for its assembly; FIG. 2 represents a vibration damper intended to be assembled to the rear axle of FIG. 1; - Figure 3 shows a positioning template for mounting the vibration damper of Figure 2 on the rear axle of Figure 1; FIG. 4 is a detailed view of the rear suspension of FIG. 1 on which the vibration damper of FIG. 2 is assembled, which is covered by the positioning jig of FIG. 3; and FIG. 5 is a detailed view of the rear axle of FIG. 1 on which the vibration damper of FIG. 2 is assembled after the removal of the jig.
Figure 1 shows a rear axle 1 to be mounted on a motor vehicle. This rear axle 1 comprises a crosspiece 11 at both ends of which extend longitudinal arms each having a front portion 12 and a rear portion 13. The front ends of the longitudinal arms each support a coil 120. The coil of the right longitudinal arm, in which is placed an elastic pad traversed by a screw 6, forms a resilient hinge between the rear axle 1 and an assembly yoke 2 intended to be fixed to the chassis of the vehicle. The coil 120 of the left longitudinal arm is shown in the figure without the means of attachment to the chassis, but is obviously also intended to form an elastic joint between the rear axle 1 and an assembly yoke. The rear ends of the longitudinal arms support wheel support plates 14. In Figure 1, the rear train 1 is placed on a transport pallet 3, allowing its movement on the assembly line of the rear axle. This transport pallet 3 comprises a flat base, support columns 31 intended to support the coils 120 of the rear axle and support columns 32 intended to support the assembly yokes 2.
As shown in FIG. 5, a vibration damping device is implemented at each of the elastic joints between the rear axle 1 and the assembly yokes 2. This vibration damping device, which aims at damping the vibrations of frequency too high to be effectively damped by the elastic joint, is constituted by a vibration damper 4, shown in Figure 2, which is held in abutment against the outer face of the wing of the assembly yoke 2 by the screw connecting this yoke to the coil 120. This vibration damper consists of a metal plate 41 in which is drilled a fixing hole 42, one end of this plate being covered by a flexible pad 43 consisting of a elastic material such as rubber and overmolded on the metal plate 41. At the end of the vibration damper opposite the fixing hole 42, the flexible pad 43 carries a lip 44, which can as the figures show, in the form of teeth 44 independent of one another. When this vibration damper 4 is assembled on the yoke 2, as shown in Figure 4, the flexible pad 43 is in abutment against the outer surface of a plate 21 forming a wing of the assembly yoke 2, and the lip device 44 is deformed by the contact with the lateral edge 210 of this plate 21.
The presence of the vibration damper 4 makes it possible to avoid the appearance of vibration noise at the rear axle of the vehicle when driving. However, this suppression of the noise is effective only if the vibration damper 4 is pressed to the yoke 2 with a suitable angle of attachment. In practice, in the embodiment shown, the damper must be fixed so that its plane of symmetry forms an angle of 23 ° ± 6 ° with the plane of symmetry of the yoke 2 on which it is fixed.
To avoid the bad assembly of the damper 4 on the yoke 2, it is provided according to the invention that the damper is maintained during assembly by a positioning jig 5 shown in FIG. 3. This positioning jig 5 is designed to ensure the positioning of the damper 4 to the yoke 2 on the right side of the rear axle of the vehicle. A symmetrical positioning template can obviously be used for the positioning of the vibration damper 4 on the yoke 2 on the left side of the rear axle 1. The positioning jig 5 is constituted by a folded metal plate having a first flat portion 51 for maintaining the vibration damper 4 and a second planar portion 52 extending perpendicularly to the first portion. A centering guide 53 is provided in the jig 5 to accommodate the head of the fixing screw of the yoke 2 to the spool 120. It is constituted by a cylindrical rim passing through the first flat portion 51, completely open on the inner face of this portion, intended to receive the damper 4. On the other side, this centering guide 53 is partially closed by a flange, to maintain the screw head but leaving the passage for a screwing tool of this screw head . On the inner face of the first planar portion 51, two angular positioning calluses 54 and 55 are fixed by welding. They make it possible to maintain the angular position of the damper 4 with respect to the positioning jig 5, when the fixing hole 42 of the damper is centered coaxially with the centering guide 53.
A control hole 56, passing through the first portion 51 of the positioning jig 5, is provided substantially between the angular positioning shims 54 and 55. This hole makes it possible to check the presence of the vibration damper, after its assembly, before The second portion 52 of the positioning jig has a fork shape, the branches of which can frame a support column 31 of the transport pallet 3 to angularly position the jig with respect to this pallet. A magnet 57 is fixed on the inner face of the first portion 51, at its end opposite to that bearing the second portion 52. This magnet can be applied magnetically on the wing of the yoke 2 to maintain the jig 5 in position against clevis 2. The procedure for assembling the vibration dampers 4 on the rear axle of the vehicle is, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the following. The operator having to make the assembly grasped a positioning jig 5, which may advantageously be placed beforehand on the transport pallet 3, on the left or on the right side, depending on whether this jig is intended for positioning the damper on the side left or right side. It introduces the head of the screw 6 in the centering guide 53, the threaded body of the screw extending on the side of the inner face of the first planar portion 52 of the template. He then places the vibration damper 4 on the screw 6, so that the screw passes through the fixing hole 42 of the damper 4 and this damper 4 is positioned angularly between the two positioning blocks 54 and 55. then grasps an assembly clevis 2 and positions it on the reel of the rear crossbar, which contains an elastic pad in which is formed a bore. It then positions the assembly formed by the positioning jig 5, the screw 6 and the vibration damper 4 against the inner side edge of the yoke, by introducing the threaded portion of the screw 6 into the bore of the elastic pad. The magnet 57 then applies magnetically against the outer face of the wing of the yoke, the two branches of the fork of the second portion 52 of the positioning jig 5 coming from each side of the support column 31 on which is placed the coil 120. Following this setting of the damper 4, the screw 6 and the jig 5, a nut can be screwed to the end of the screw 6, the head thereof being actuated by a tool passing through the opening provided at the bottom of the centering guide 53. This screw thus allows the fixing of the yoke 2 at the rear end of the longitudinal arm, and the fixing of the damper 4 on the yoke 2 ensuring that its angular positioning is correct. The template 5 can remain in place after the screwing of the nut, during a step of checking the presence of the damper 4, during which a probe, or a human controller, checks through the control hole 56 the This check also makes it possible to ensure that the positioning jig 5 used for the positioning of the shock absorber 4 is the one adapted to the right or left side of the rear suspension 1. After this verification, an operator can remove the template 5, and put it on the pallet 3, near the corresponding support column 31, so that it is used again for mounting a damper on another rear axle 1. Other embodiments can be implemented, using variants of the template 5. It is for example possible to maintain the vibration damper against the yoke with a suitable template, and then introduce the fixing screw.
