The operation unit is equipped with two proximal parts of the grip, where the proximal parts have unequal length.

Description

The invention relates to an eel tong. Every sinner knows that an eel is difficult to grasp because of its liveliness and also the mucus that covers it. Amateur fishermen resort to a rag. This is certainly effective for a sinner who catches one or two eels per day but insufficient for a professional fisherman such a fishmonger who must, for example, sort the eels according to the size. It can for example handle 30 to 40 eels in ten minutes. Indeed, during each manipulation, mucus will be deposited on the cloth and the latter will quickly become slippery and therefore unusable. It is known, for lovers, so-called eel tongs formed of two crossed branches articulated one on the other. One end of the clamp is a means of maneuvering said clamp and the other end is the two jaws. The active faces of these jaws are lined with teeth. These teeth are rounded so as not to hurt the body of the eel. The body of an eel being of generally circular section, the active faces of these jaws are curved so that when the clamp is closed, only the teeth located at both ends are in contact. Sometimes it is only on the distal part that it contacts. The purpose of the arrangement of the ends of the teeth in a fairly pronounced curved shape is to take into account the different sizes of eels. Indeed, it is not uncommon to find eels 5 cm in diameter. Unfortunately, the eel slips even by exerting strong pressure on the clip. 1 In addition, the greater the pressure, the more the eel moves. Also known is a US 471 243 forceps comprising an upper jaw and two lower jaws that are not in front of the upper jaw so as to form a baffle intended to bend the body of the eel. Such a solution is not very effective. The invention aims to provide a new solution to seize an eel. For this purpose the invention relates to a clamp constituted by two crossed branches and articulated to one another by means of an axis said clamp having an end forming two jaws having teeth and another end forming a means of maneuvering said clamp being characterized in that the teeth are pointed and pronounced. The invention will be better understood from the following description given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the drawing which represents: FIG. 1: An eel clamp viewed from the front according to the invention FIG. Figure 1 view according to F. Referring to the drawing, we see a clamp 1 eel. Conventionally, this clamp is constituted by two branches 2A, 2B crossed and articulated to one another by means of an axis 3, said clamp having one end forming two jaws 4A, 4B having teeth 5 and another end 20 forming a means 6 for operating said jaws. Each jaw includes a single row of teeth. The thickness of the clamp is of the order of five millimeters. The teeth 5 are pointed and pronounced.

By tooth pronounced, one will understand a tooth 5 whose height is of the order of five to ten millimeters and the width at the base also of the order of five to ten millimeters. The shape will be approximately triangular with, possibly at the base, parallel flanks. By pointed, we exclude rounded shapes. Preferably, the thickness of the tooth decreases as it approaches the tip. The thickness of the tooth at the base will be of the order of three millimeters. Although these teeth are sharp, they do not pierce the skin of the eel 10 subject to reasonable pressure but exert a very localized pressure point that allows to firmly hold the eel. In fact the eel is covered with tiny scales that are not visible and the teeth of this clip get stuck in the scales. Preferably, the tips of the teeth of one jaw are positioned opposite the tips of the teeth of the other jaw. There is no interlocking teeth. The pressure exerted is therefore obtained by diametrically opposed forces. The tips of the teeth are distributed in a straight or curved line, the distance between the tips of the teeth facing each other furthest being of the order of one centimeter for a jaw length of fifteen to twenty. centimeters. The teeth extend to the distal end of the jaw where they are in contact when the clamp is closed. The jaws extend in a curved plane or in two secant planes.

The operating means is constituted by the portions 6A, 6B said proximal crossed branches and advantageously, they are of different lengths, the shortest portion 6A being intended to be manipulated by the thumb. These proximal portions are shaped as a ring, one of the rings being intended to slide thumb while the other ring, wider, receiving the other fingers of the hand. For a good hold this clamp will be made of forged steel or stainless steel. Indeed, rigidity is important given the strength of an eel. So contrary to what one might think, the use of sharp teeth does not hurt the animal especially since it has thick skin.
